Sprint Hero – Ugly Gadget

Ugly Sprint Hero:

I’m not going to go so far as to call the OS on the device ugly, it actually looks pretty snazzy. Android looks rather beefy, special and sweet. But I wouldn’t buy this phone for two reasons: 1) It has no physical keyboard. 2) It’s ugly.

Sprint redesigned the HTC Hero to make it look like those old, piece of junk, COMPAQ windows mobile Pocket PC’s. Don’t you agree? I’m talking about the bottom inch of the device, to be specific. Funny thing is that I talked some hardcore smack on the Palm Pre when it first came out, but now it’s sitting by me as I type this and it’s my favorite phone of all time. I still think it’s a little bit Ugly, but It’s an amazing device. I blogged about my first impressions of my Palm Pre here if you want to see how I changed my tune from my Palm Pre smack talk post.

    Total agreeance.

The original was a much sexier design, this just looks like another Sprint phone.

Until a manufacturer sees the light and realizes that modern design = cache then none of these phones will catch on like the iPhone.

Say what you will about Apple, but they know how to not only make a product work they know how to make it look amazing as well.

I couldn’t agree more! I used to get excited about the new phones being released when i saw the ATT and Verizon versions. Then, EVERYTIME, i’d be majorly disappointed when Sprint unveiled their rounded UGLY versions of everything that gets released!

If it werent such a hassle to switch my whole family over to Verizon, I would. WHO PICKS THESE UGLY PHONES FOR SPRINT?????
