Sprint Hero – Ugly Gadget

Ugly Sprint Hero:

I’m not going to go so far as to call the OS on the device ugly, it actually looks pretty snazzy. Android looks rather beefy, special and sweet. But I wouldn’t buy this phone for two reasons: 1) It has no physical keyboard. 2) It’s ugly.

Sprint redesigned the HTC Hero to make it look like those old, piece of junk, COMPAQ windows mobile Pocket PC’s. Don’t you agree? I’m talking about the bottom inch of the device, to be specific. Funny thing is that I talked some hardcore smack on the Palm Pre when it first came out, but now it’s sitting by me as I type this and it’s my favorite phone of all time. I still think it’s a little bit Ugly, but It’s an amazing device. I blogged about my first impressions of my Palm Pre here if you want to see how I changed my tune from my Palm Pre smack talk post.

Not A Gadget…But Dang, This Thing Is UGLY! Magna, Mitsubishi

Why is it that every single futuristic, green, or otherwise environment-friendly device, car, gadget, has to be uglier than Hillary Clinton herself?

fing-ugly-mobile

(arrows pointing to all of the people that are giving this car the attention that it deserves: none. Alright, I guess pointing and laughing would be a good substitute.)

It’s 11:41 PM here at the Ugly Gadget headquarters and we were just preparing to take a blueberry muffin break. After looking at this ridiculously ugly car, we’re having second thoughts. It seems the design of this thing has upset our stomachs.

We’re not feeling very poetic tonight. We just stumbled over this 80’s novelty spy gadget and our stomach suddenly turned our face green.

We’ll just leave you with this picture. Sorry. We bet you’d rather not have seen it either.

Has Palm Finally Ended Their Ridiculously Ugly Gadget Streak?

…We think not.

palm-pre

Can you say Halo meets Star-Trek? Or how about this: 80’s design meets web 2.0 + amazing 21st century features. Either way you look at it, this thing is an eye-sore. Do we spy with our little eye an orange button on this Ugly Gadget?

We would be ungreatful not to mention the amazing features this thing is supposed to have, but in all sincerity, we don’t care how many features something has if it’s not worth looking at. [Amazing Features According To Palm] ”Breakthrough Design” Our Ass!

Call us crazy, but we think Kanye will be an early adopter of this Ugly Gadget. Enjoy it for now. Call us when Palm gives the thing a makeover.

That should be what? Another 20 years?

Canon Powershot E1 – Who’s Box Of Cereal Did This Pop Out Of?

If this camera didn’t sport 10 MegaPixel resolution and all the other goodies that are standard on such a gadget, we would definitely call it worthy of the nearest Lucky Charms box. On second thought, we don’t know of any six year-olds that would feel comfortable packing around this piece of machinery.

LG CP150 Not Cool. Not Fly. Just Ugly.

This reminds us of the phones our 90 year old grandmothers go after. Perhaps that’s who they’re marketing it towards but that shiny shell with pin holes in it just isn’t turning us on. The only thing we have left to say about this disgusting piece of shiny plastic is we wish LG’s marketing department luck. We’re pretty sure we can hook you up with a 90 year old – dentures and all.

Vertu Throws Ferrari Logo On Ugly Phone – Ferrari Ascent Ti collection

Ugly Gadget Lesson #1: Putting the Ferrari logo on any gadget doesn’t automatically make it look cool.

Acer has tried it, now Vertu! We’re not millionaires, but we can’t see this appealing to any. We’d rather put our cash on a horse race than buy this ugly piece of machinery. One last question popped into our minds just before exiting this products informational page: Is the default ringtone a “neigh”?

Last thing we’ll say: If you’re a millionaire and you just happen to be reading this post, we strongly encourage you to lean back and think long and hard about this phone. If you still don’t realize how ugly it is, we recommend you stand up, walk to the nearest wall, move your head back and forth in a beavis and butthead motion till it begins to hurt. Now walk back to your computer and look at the phone again.

The above exercise was designed to make you snap out of the trance that the Ferrari logo tends to put people in.

Enter: The Hideous LG KS500

Look LG, we don’t care that your new phone features a 3 megapixel camera, GPS and an optical touchpad. What we’re concerned with is how your designers managed to royally screw up the complete look of the device. Note to LG: Backhand the design team for the LG KS500.

If you decide you like the looks of this phone, please, exit this site as soon as possible: [More Info On The LG KS500]

Swarovski-Coated Webcam. Available In Europe Only. Thank Goodness.

Though this isn’t as ugly as some gadgets, we still feel that the company that made it deserves to be beat with the ugly stick. Heaven knows that the device they created already has been. If the picture didn’t turn you off already, and you’re still reading, you may be interested to know that this gadget is only €49.99 (about $63) and sports 2 megapixel photo quality and 1.3 megapixel video resolution. It also has an integrated flash and clever mounting gear so that you can mount it on your laptop, or flat panel monitor.

Motorola AURA. OMG It Shows Up Again! Cover Your Eyes!

We posted earlier about this shiny piece of garbage equipment and we had our hopes up that we would never have to cross paths with it again.  Nevertheless, we refreshed the page of Engadget, and there it appeared again! This time, it’s getting the “hands-on treatment”. Personally, we wouldn’t touch the thing with a 45 foot pole (original, we know). If the hands-on finger fiesta hasn’t started yet, we would strongly encourage whomever is handling this device to do so with extreme caution. Just be sure to suit up properly. A biohazard suit should be fine.
